Manager & Trainer
Andrea Torres, born on October 20, 1982, in Bogotá, Colombia, began riding at age 6 and competing in jumpers by age 9. Trained by her father, Manuel Torres—a five-time Olympian and Colombian representative in World Cup Finals, PanAm Games, and World Equestrian Games—Andrea quickly made her mark in the sport. She represented Colombia in the South American Games and national championships before relocating to the U.S. in 2000.
After completing her degree in International Business, Finance, and Management at American University, Andrea built a successful career in a global consulting firm while competing as an amateur. Renowned for her wins in the Amateur Owner division, she moved up to national Grand Prix level, balancing her corporate job and raising twins.
Turning professional in 2020, Andrea earned a spot on the Colombian Team for the 2021 Nations Cup in Wellington, Florida. Now a prominent competitor in international show jumping, she aims to represent Colombia in major events like the Pan American Games, Olympics, and World Equestrian Games. Andrea now manages and trains at Alma Equestrian Stables with Christina Almeida in Wellington, Florida, where they develop top-level equestrian talent.
