About Alma..

Alma Equestrian was born from the desire to create something different—a sanctuary where horses are honored, riders are supported, and care goes beyond competition.

Located in the heart of Wellington, Florida, Alma is a boutique equestrian and show jumping facility offering a holistic and intentional approach to horse boarding and training. Founded by Christina Almeida, an amateur rider and wellness entrepreneur, Alma was built with love, vision, and a commitment to doing things differently.

With a focus on individualized care, spacious turnout, premium amenities, and a calm, supportive atmosphere, Alma offers an alternative to the high-pressure show barn environment. We believe that well-being is the foundation for true performance, and that the relationship between horse and human is sacred.

Our team includes expert professionals and caretakers who prioritize wellness and excellence. Head trainer Andrea Torres offers optional training services, specializing in the development of young horses and riders seeking a balanced, grounded, and competitive program in show jumping.

Whether you're looking for a seasonal retreat for your horse or a long-term home, Alma is a place to slow down, go deep, and reconnect with why we ride in the first place.

We welcome clients who share our values of intentionality, care, and connection.

Only a few stalls are available per season. Inquire now to learn more.

  • Owner & Manager

Christina Rae Almeida is an entrepreneur, women's coach, and amateur show jumper based in Wellington, Florida. As the owner and manager of Alma Equestrian, she created a boutique, wellness-centered barn that blends top-level horse care with conscious living and a deep respect for the horse-human connection.

Inspired by her own healing journey, Christina brings intention, integrity, and heart to every aspect of the barn. She oversees daily operations, cultivates a supportive community, and is committed to providing a safe, high-standard environment where both horses and riders can thrive.

  • Head Trainer

Andrea Torres, born in Bogotá, Colombia, began riding at age 6 and competing in jumpers by age 9. Trained by her father, Manuel Torres—a five-time Olympian and representative of Colombia in the World Cup Finals, PanAm Games, and World Equestrian Games—Andrea quickly established herself as a rising star in the sport. She represented Colombia in the South American Games and national championships before relocating to the U.S. in 2000.

After earning a degree in International Business, Finance, and Management from American University, Andrea built a successful corporate career while continuing to compete at the top levels of the Amateur Owner divisions. She later moved up to the national Grand Prix level, all while raising twins and maintaining her professional commitments.

In 2020, Andrea turned professional and went on to represent Colombia in the 2021 Nations Cup in Wellington, Florida. Today, she continues to compete internationally with the goal of representing her country in the Pan American Games, Olympics, and World Equestrian Games.

At Alma Equestrian, Andrea offers elite-level training and horse development services, focusing on young horses and competitive riders. She serves as the head trainer for select clients and horses in residence and is available by separate arrangement for training programs. Her presence at Alma ensures access to a high-level training option within a supportive and intentional barn environment.

Andrea’s training services are offered independently and are available as an add-on to boarding at Alma.
